Default Things to do with a child in Wellington

    Hi everyone,

I have recently moved to Johnsonville, Wellington and am lucky enough to have a few months with my 17 month old son before I need to return to work.

I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any regular baby groups in, or close to the area? My little one is an energetic little thing who is now looking to make some new buddies (as well as me too!).

We usually take him to the play group at the local chapel on Mondays, and I'm trying to find some really good day care, too (any advice very welcome).

If anyone knows of any groups, activities, things to do etc that we can go to, we would both really appreciate it!

    Many thanks,

    Sarah and Little Aster =D

We like the playcentre in our area. You can visit 3 times for free to see if you like it.

    Have you contacted Plunket?

They could put you in touch with a PIN group for the age of your child.

The arena at Porirua has kindy gym which is good http://www.terauparaha-arena.co.nz/P...ool-Programmes also there is a playgroup at Early Impressions http://www.johnsonvillecommunitycent...lar-activities this is also where my daughter goes to creche once a week, it has a great reputation & she loves going, $29 for 8.30 to 12.30 there was a bit of a waiting list for the playgroup but that was a while ago now.

Tawa also has a playgroup on Thursday mornings which is good & gold coin donation, I think it's 9.30 start, let me know if you want more info as I'll have to drive past it to see the name of the church again.

The community centre may be the place to have a look & the library, they do story time too. Hope this helps a bit, if I think of any more I'll let you know but PM me if you want anything further
