    Default 1 Rose = 20$

I checked to buy a bouquet with a florist in Westfield, Auckland CBD.

I was shocked when I heard the price.

Each rose costs 20$. I left there, but still couldn't beleive if I heard it correctly.

Visited again and checked the price of a bouquet.

It had 10 small roses, not too fresh.

They said if it is with no wrapping, then it is 145$.

Is that the normal pricing in NZ ?

Not sure about roses but mixed bouquets I've bought are not expensive.

My guess...Valentines Day is near or otherwise known as double/jack up the price on Roses day.

Once I ordered (online) a small bouquet of roses to Christchurch which had about 6-8 roses and costed about $120, that was about 2 years ago. Demand is usually high during Valentine's day and I have seen similar inflated prices in quite a lot of countries.

Valentine's day should be the reason. I guessed it, and asked them I need another bouquet after 2 weeks. Will that going to be the same price. They replied, "not sure, sometimes it could be more".
I bought 1 with 5 roses for 8$ from another place yesterday.
