    Default ITA Timeline

OH finally received a job offer. However, start date March 26th! Is it realistic to do the SMC, hoping to get picked in the Feb 23rd selection (we'll have 150 points with job offer). Is it possible to get everything processed and get a PR approved by mid March? We already have our FBI certificates.

    Thanks!

    Congratulations!

You can try. If INZ don't think it'll work out, you can always also go for a work visa for each of you, to allow your OH to start work legally and you go with her, and let the SMC application tick away in its own good time.

    Hi JandM,
Do you know how long does it takes for processing temporary work visa?
    Thanks

Google 'Immigration NZ (whichever) branch processing times', for the office where you have to submit, and it will show you their average.

So that would be the temporary work visa for the one with the job offer, and the other would apply for the 'Partners Supporting Partnership Temporary Entry' visa?
Also, planning to apply for the SMC (EOI already submitted) and let that process run. Ideally we'll have the Residence visa granted via the SMC and not even need the temporary work visa. However we are planning to move March 18, 2012. Is it at all possible based on past experiences to get the SMC residence visa by then, assuming we are selected at the Feb 22 draw? Yikes!

Yes, that's what I was thinking. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...milystream.htm You put both applications in together, with a letter linking them, and the CO will process them together, filling in the details that you won't know for yourself from the work visa as they become available.
