    Unhappy Wellington branch applications

Looks like good news in terms of speedy application approval happens elsewhere but Wellington. My application has been with them since July 2011 (submission of application), and now its been a month since they said they will let me know of outcome. Anyone with a story to tell about Welly. #getting a bit impatient with them
Can one continue to ask CO for updates without making them angry to jeorpadise application outcome?

As your application is with Wellington, do I gather you are in NZ on some other kind of visa at the moment?

If that is the case, people have often noticed that INZ don't have any urgency in that situation - the thinking seems to be that the person is already safely in NZ, legally working, so what's his hurry, which of course doesn't take any account of the applicant's natural wish to KNOW that they're at the end of all the tension, and secure in their new life. INZ do, however, get a real hurry on if the applicant points out that they're now within a very few weeks of their original work visa, WHV, or whatever, expiring.

Know plenty of people who went through the Wellington branch and all have very different timelines. Best I've heard recently was a friend who was approved 2 weeks ago after being allocated a CO in November.

    Our Time line at Wellington...
    10th Aug- EOI lodged
    12th Aug- EOI selected
    21st September- Application Lodged
7th Feb- Assigned case officer & asked for IRD summary of earnings
21st Feb- Asked for more defacto info from lodgment date till present date.
    28 Feb- Residence Approved
    29th Feb- AIP letter received
    1st March- Posted passports
    5th March- Migrant Levy charged
still waiting for passports back with our blue stickers!

The application ran very smoothly. I put this down to having an amazing Migration Agent (Matt Gibbons and Onestep http://onestepnz.com/) and all the work that we both put into to making it a really strong application before submitting it. My agent also kept pushing for it to be processed faster as my partners working holiday visa was about to expire, which did the trick!

congo prabaksu, what kind of work you are doing in welly? IT..

it seems like you have submitted more docs on 8th jan? it is a date before your CO allocated so someone from the docs team asked for it?
