    Default So far so good

I've made some good contacts, have an offer for a contract...Auckland is doing very well. Restaurants are full. Sense of well being. Sense that the place for want of a better word is happening. People are generally optimistic (well the ones I've talked to). House prices seem to be the big issue understandably. I've read some sites that suggests NZ is like a 2nd world country. I'm not getting that impression at all, at least not in Auckland.

    That's great dede!

Good luck with the contract. And glad to hear you're really liking Auckland. That's where we'd like to wind up.

I'm not sure why people are referring to it as a 2nd world country.

The only main difference I find is that things take a little longer to happen than back in the USA, aka Island or NZ time, and perhaps a lack of range of shopping, unless you live nr a big city.

But I enjoy the slower pace of life and did not move here for the shopping.

Glad you are settling in, enjoy.

If you between the haves (1st world) and the have nots (3rd World) then NZ fits nicely in the middle
