Default Commuting from Howick/Cockle Bay/Mellons Bay area to Papakura

    Hi guys,

just wondered if anyone does this commute from Howick area to Papakura on weekdays.

Checked out google maps etc and seems to take around half hour but wondered if anyone had the direct experience?

I would say 45 mins is more realistic.

I can get to Papakura in 30 mins out of rush hour, I am in Mellons Bay.

although most traffic is city bound at rush hour, you are still going to be meeting up with that traffic as it heads to the main routes of Pakuranga Highway and Ti Rakau drive, once past those,

it won't be quite so busy, unless you are travelling at school run time...

most kids in the area get dropped off between 8.15 and 8.45.

If you are looking at google maps, there are two routes...

you can head down Chapel Road and get on SH1 at Manukau,

or you can take the back roads, Hill, Redoubt & Mill Rds, although they are more like UK "B" roads,

and quite bendy & hilly, but smashing views!
