Default Volunteering opportunities in New Zealand

If anyone is looking for a volunteering opportunity I would recommend becoming an ESOL Home Tutor to migrants and refugees via English Language Partners. This involves teaching English in a learner's home, one hour per week. No teaching experience needed!

They have branches all over New Zealand and the details may change for each branch but for the Wellington Branch you attend a free 2 and a half day training course, then are matched with a migrant or refugee learner who needs to improve their English. You then meet them for one hour a week and help them with their English. You get a certificate in ESOL Home Tutoring once you have completed a set number of hours.

All the information is on the link above about where you can do this and dates of the training.

I concur. It's a great way to meet people & participate in the community. Would also suggest having a look at Volunteernow.org.nz for other volunteer opportunities in NZ.
