    Default auto insurance policy: clean driving record from USA and Canada make difference or not?

    Hello,
    I have a clean driving record for about 10 years in USA and Canada. If I shop for auto insurance in NZ and want to have lowest premium based on merits like in North America, what documents should I provide to insurance company? Does NZ auto insurance company credit abroad clean driving record?
    Just want to have documents ready before I move into NZ.

    Bring a letter stating how long you have a driving record and if you had an accidents or were accident free, also if you had any discounts, ie safe driver.
    It saved us from $400 every 3 months to $199 and $500 refund.

    You can get a statement from your current insurance carrier and the BMV/DMV for proof.
