Be aware that most people on the forum manage their application themselves, which is a big saving of money. It is perfectly possible to cope, with instructions which are publicly given on the Immigration NZ website, and people here will explain terms and give examples from their experience if it's needed.

I also suggest to not use Consultant, and to manage it yourself. Read instructions carefully, ask help from INZ, NZQA, or members of this forum when you need, and hope you will be ok.

Immigration is long process, and you have time to read instructions and prepare your steps.

    Dear Friends

I have different views on this natter.
Specialized / Skilled people do their work more efficiently.

It is like this you fill up yourself and you are filling up yourself there are chances of errors and mistakes which may lead to rejection. Then again you file your application and again pay for submitting your application. There ate people who have submitted their EOI again and again.I would say if you dont have time and not too sure about things then it is better to have specialist in place. Pay the price which you might be paying again if your application is rejected.

What we do is "Reactive" error correction ie majority we ask for help when already error / damage is done but when it comes to consultant as their core business is this as they come across all sort of problems daily with all sort of different people with different scenarios .They will "Proactively" prevent those errors and mistakes.

I dont say we cant fill up ourselves. If you are confident then do it yourself.
Again one to decide what actually he wants.

    Regards

    Hitesh Desai

As it is said "Prevention is better then cure".

Hmmm- it really is up to you: however the cost for a consultant is very expensive and often you would still need to provide the data in the first place!

Hitesh mentions that a lot of people ask for help after the event- which is obviously a problem for those in that situation. However- if you ask the questions in advance and research and prepare then is is not difficult to do- even the forms are online!

A consultant will not have any shortcuts or ways of bending the system. Personally- we did ours on our own and had no problems.

Most people on the forum seem to 'go it alone' though we will be using an agent.

We know that they don't have magic wands and we will still have to provide the information and they can't get any preferential treatment, but they are the experts on the immigration system and that allows us the peace of mind that once our application goes in it will all be correct.

ruhitesh has a good point, if you do it yourself and get it wrong then a time consuming and stressful process becomes even more so. Each time they have to come back to you to clarify something you go back down to the bottom of the pile again.

Our view is that the cost in the overall scheme of getting a new and better life is a small price to pay. We are lucky in the respect that our budget will allow us to cover this cost, we know others aren't so fortunate.

I think if we had straightforward choices on how to get our points and didn't have time against because of our ages then we might have attempted it ourselves.

There is no right or wrong answer to this, like lots of the questions on here - if it feels like the right thing for you, then it probably is.
