Default activating the two year clock

quick question, and apologies for being lazy and not researching the answer myself !

we have residency, which would have to be activated by October.....IF my husband (primary applicant) enters nz alone for a quick holiday thus activating the visa would this be sufficient for me (i also have res visa) to enter later during the two year window ??? or does everyone with the res visa have to touch down before the october deadline ?

    thanks!!

I think everyone will have to activate their residence visa before the October deadline.

What does it say on your visa? I think you'll find it says a date by which it must be used, as in 'Must not arrive after (x date).'

It should have all the details on your visa. For instance I have to be in by January 9, 2013.

    Hi Folks,

Just Curious... When activating residence visa ... Will the 2 years stamp will be given at the airport ?

Stamp in passport or Blue Visa Sticker on the spot?

    Thank you all

It will be just an entry date (general immigration date stamp) on passport - at least that used to be the case.
