surge protector is so expensive in NZ. Is it ok to use US/Canada surge protector with a plug adaptor in New Zealand?
Where to buy plug adaptor and surge protector with reasonalbe price in Hamilton?

I have used international adaptors from the US here but only for laptops, digital picture frame, digital camera etc but went and bought a electrical outlet strip with a built in surge protector, 1 for computer/printer etc and 1 for TV etc. You can buy them at Noel leeming and Godfreys in Hamilton and probably at some dept stores. Not sure about surge protector from the US, it is a different voltage so I would not want to risk it.

I want to bring a couple surge protectors from the USA. Will they work fine as long as I have the adapter for the NZ wall plug?

No, it is almost twice the voltage.
