Default has my medical been referred? :(

Got an email from my CO today saying she has "referred your medical to our Medical Assessor for comment."

Is that a full meal deal medical assessment/referral or could it be something else?

    Any idea?

    Thanks!

This is referral, I think. I've never heard that there is any other kind of communication with the MAs.

Were you aware that the doctor you saw had marked anything on the paperwork as being abnormal? It's usually either because of that, or if there's any mention of certain trigger-words (and no, we don't know what they are, just that people with no 'abnormals' do get referred from time to time by their COs).

The doctored ticked "no abnormal findings". I am on medication for two stable conditions and included a specialist letter explaining my conditions, the meds and my (excellent) prognosis. Both meds are available in NZ and his letter indicated I could go off one of them shortly after I arrive in NZ if I so wish. One's for acid reflux (the lowest dosage) and the other depression (that's the one he recommends I start to reduce once I'm settled).

My cholesterol was a bit high but the doctor didn't flag it.

Well done for thinking ahead and including a specialist's letter - that should hopefully satisfy the MA. It sounds like a pretty standard referral, so fingers crossed you won't have too much of a delay before hearing a response.

I agree with everything above. I'd suggest it has just been referred to the MA to review and approve the medical information provided. Worst case scenario, they might come back and ask for additional information or for another test perhaps?

Thanks--I'm hoping for the former rather than the latter!

My CO confirmed today that it's all good: she's waiting on the paperwork to arrive at her office in London before she has the final review done and updates my status. Woo hoo!
