"Defence Service"

I've searched through the archives, but have not come across this. Has anyone claimed "Defence Service" for Recognized Qualifications? I served in the US Military for 6+ years. Would this count as "Defence Service"? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Thanks for the response! "Defence Service" shows up on the list of recognized qualifications, and would give me 10 pts if I'm able to use it. That's the only reason I ask.

Can you provide a link to that? If I'd known that I could have used it for our application but it's never been mentioned.

You can search for "Defence" and it pulls up a few options (Senior Non-Commissioned, 'other ranks' Defence) I hope this helps.

We're filing this week, so I guess we'll find out if it's accepted or not.

I am not sure you can use military service for points as a recognised qualification.

You can use it to claim points under the work experience category as it counts as skilled employment.

As TJH says, this is a list of skilled occupations, not qualifications. You can claim it as work experience only. There will be no points for it, sorry
