This is a really dumb question, but what type of electrical plugs are used in NZ? Are they the 3-pin UK variety or do I need an adaptor? Hope someone can help me.
Thanks.

They are three pin, but not at all like the UK ones,
but what we did (along with many others round here) is bring over 4 plug extension leads and just change the end plug to an NZ one and then you can plug UK appliances in, until you get round to changing more of them.
Also handy for phone chargers and such that cant be changed to NZ plugs
Here's one I drew earlier (gonna get slapped for "serious mis-use of attachment feature" soon!)
Thanks Moorf and jubjub for the information.
Just to add, really easy to change over from the UK plugs to the NZ ones, easy ...but boring
We also bought 4 or 5 UK to NZ adaptor plugs with us
(they are realy cheap in tesco)
and also do the the UK 4 gang plug thing and just change the actual plug that goes into the wall.
