    Post Resident Visa Validity Period?

What is the expiry period (validity period) for resident visa?
If you are applying under SMC visa without job offer , what are my chances of getting residency visa? and not a SMC work visa which has validity of 9 months?
I knw its completely depends on your CO? But does the chances are bright if everything goes well (without job offer)...I mean wk and edu documents are proper, medicals are fine and interview went well.

What is the expiry period (validity period) for resident visa?
A residence visa CAN last forever, if the person stays inside NZ.

The visa comes with travel conditions which allow limitless travel in and out of NZ for the first two years. After that the travel conditions expire, and if the holder wants to continue travelling abroad, s/he needs EITHER to renew the travel conditions, OR, if by then qualified, to change the visa for Permanent Residence (PR). See this page and the links off it. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...nts/nextsteps/ So, Residence with travel conditions, then progressing to PR, means that the holder can come and go from NZ for life.

However, if the person holding a Residence visa is outside NZ, their travel conditions run out, and they do nothing about it in time, the visa will then lapse. Also, if a Resident is found to have made false claims in their application, so it is based upon a lie, and/or if a Resident commits a serious crime, a visa can be revoked.

Chances of getting Residence rather than a Job Search Visa? - you are asking people to read the future for you. It is not possible to say what chances. It isn't actually completely dependent on the CO. The CO has strict guidelines to follow. When conducting the interview, s/he is making an assessment of the applicant's knowledge of NZ, and the working environment of their career in NZ, which in turn show her/him how employable that person is, and therefore, the contribution they may be able to make to NZ. So it is how you show yourself in the interview - the impression you make on the CO - which decides the outcome. (So if all has been good to that point, then 'the interview went well' in the sense that you show the CO everything s/he has to look out for, it should mean good news.)
