    Default Wellington - 'horsey' areas?

    Hello

There is a chance I may be relocating to Wellington for work, and bringing with me my dressage/show horse.

Can anyone advise where the 'horsey' areas that are within commuting distance of Wellington? Ideally, I would not like to be more than 45 minutes out of the city.

From my google search it seems Upper Hutt may be the sort of area I am looking for?

Anywhere else I should be exploring? This is all very preliminary, but country hopping with a 750kg beasty requires a little pre-planning!

    Thanks in advance.

Upper Hutt for sure, as you said, and the two Adam's Girl mentioned. Also, though I haven't been there to see for myself, I've heard a few people mention Granada North and horsies together

Yes Upper Hutt is a good option. Silverstream seems to be pretty horsey and a nice area too. Further afield there is the Wairarapa but this would be way outside your commuting criteria.
