    Default Help: phone interview (SMC)

    Hi everyone!

my employer is set to have a phone interview with my CO next week. Any one of you guys have an idea what are possible questions? I am working in a Dairy Farm and applying for RV under SMC. Thank you in advance.

I don't remember hearing a detailed report back after one of these, but have a few suggestions as to what they might be after.

Why is he employing YOU? What special skills have you got that he couldn't find a NZer for the job?

Is his business going well financially? Is it sustainable, i.e. are you likely to have a job there for a good foreseeable amount of time?

Is he paying you a good rate for the job? (In case he might be underpaying, which would be like you bribing him to take you on.)

These are the instructions as to what COs are looking for when hearing that an applicant under SMC has a skilled job.
