Today's my 8th wedding anniversary. My husband is still in Vancouver so it was a FaceTime celebration. Or not, rather. I don't feel *too* badly though: we're setting ourselves up for a lifetime in NZ hopefully. And in a month's time we'll meet in Hawaii for a reconnect and some R-n-R.
<strike>My </strike>Our things arrived from Canada on Tuesday--woo hoo! Aside from assembling the beds I really didn't see what else I could ask the guys to do, so I sent them off. By then I'd unpacked about a dozen boxes; by the evening I'd got through another dozen. There are still 20+ boxes and I've unpacked more in the last couple of days. But yesterday I got out of bed rather than off the floor. Sweet!
I have my dishes, glasses, pots-and-pans, my sports gear (need to find my blades) and my clothes. Felt awesome to wear a different jacket to work yesterday! But there is no way I'll be able to unpack all the boxes. Evar. Though I'll be shifting many of the boxes of books to my office. Somehow.
And...have my first kiwi lurgy: been on my back most of today except a sojourn to the pharmacy. When I moved to Australia took about 18 months to get my immune system acclimated. Good times!
NZ is feeling more like home, day by day. Choice!
