Are you saying it costs a lot compared to reaching other places from Egypt? This is not surprising as a) NZ is a long, long way to fly, and b) airline competition on the route from Egypt to NZ is pretty low so the airlines can charge higher prices.
You might think that a one-way ticket should cost half the price of a return ticket, but in actual fact, it can often cost more. Don't ask me why! Airlines count on the return business I guess.
If you want to move here, it's a cost you'll have to factor in. A necessary evil I'm afraid.
