Default Funds Transfer before moving - from Singapore to New Zealand

    Hi ENZ Folks,

Has anyone tried the migrant services which BNZ or ASB provides that allows transfer of funds before arrival at NZ?

    http://www.bnz.co.nz/personal-bankin...to-new-zealand
    https://www.asb.co.nz/personal/banki.../from-overseas

Also considering Demand Draft which I can just hand carry but of course, will have to wait x days to clear.

    Thanks.

    Hi Spawn70,

Did you engage below services to open an NZ based ASB account? If yes, do you transfer vice-versa with your SG account (e.g. POSB, OCBC, UOB) ? Since transfers will be based on exhcange rates, were there other fees or charges? Thanks.

Hi, I transfer from DBS to ASB and vice versa. I opened an ASB Fastnet account because I have a property over in NZ.

There are charges for money transfers. I can't recall how much I need to pay for DBS, but for ASB, you can take a look at this link:
    https://www.asb.co.nz/rural/internat...funds-overseas

Somewhere near to the bottom of the page, you can click on FAQs where it brings you to the section of IMT (International Money Transfer), which is essentially the electronic transfer of funds. An important point to note is that you need to have "Netcode" to use IMT. Netcode is like a token.
IMT costs $20 and there's a limit of $60k per transfer.

    Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing Spawn70. Very helpful indeed.

And all the best on your migrate plans.

Hi, can I ask what movers you used to move your things from sg to NZ? Thanks!

How much do these banks charges for this service?
We almost did that 7 years ago, and then when we arrive here. We just opened an account and voilaaa works OK.
Good thing we didn't do that service otherwise we lost some money.
But have a check first maybe rules different now.
