When you see someone purchase a small low cost item in a shop (or a beer in a pub) and use a card, and you no longer want to kill them....

Or when you actually look forward to watching an ITM Cup match.

For me personally, I have started to say "sweet as".....aaaargh.....

Haha what's wrong with buying something cheap with EFTPOS? Or are you meaning a credit card?

Just not done in the UK.

Queue in a supermarket 10 items and someone buys a tin of beans and uses a card (which takes much longer than cash) - aaarghhh.

And as for buying drinks in a UK pub with anything but cash - you'd be lucky to get out of some town centre bars alive if you did that.....

I do know what you mean. In the States there is usually a minimum amount before you can even use your card. Here, all kids have cards to buy after school treats and often the total is $1-$3 bucks. I was embarrassed when I needed onions and I didn't even have a couple of coins...the cashier didn't blink at my 80 cent card purchase!

In recent weeks it happened twice - the other way round: The cashier asked me if I would please use a card for purchases of around $3 as there was no (suitable) change! Go figure

But of course - having a season ticket for both Super Rugby and ITM Cup.

When you hear people talking about footie and your first thought isn't soccer.

You know your child has become one when you have to tell her that she can't write "since ages ago" in her homework.

When you find yourself missing the old right hand turning road rule! And saying "sweet as", much to your own annoyance.

...if someone asks you a question and you begin the answer with "Look..." or "Yeah, nah...".
