Hi,

I just arrived in New Zealand and rent an apartment.
I would like to know if I need to go to local police station/local council to get address registration certificate.

In Germany, if we move in to a new apartment, we need to go to the local council, fill a form, write the address, sign it, and then register it. Then we will get a certificate with an offical stamp and signature from the council. We need this certificate if we want to open bank account, apply for something, etc.

I wonder if we do have the same thing here in New Zealand?
