Default Any mummy's living in or near rangiora! Looking to make new friends for me and my daughter....

    Hi

I'm new to the site and to Rangiora we moved here just last week. We came over from the UK in July and have been staying with my parents in Darfield but we have now bought ourselves a house in Rangiora.
I'm finding it hard as I get very lonely when my husbands at work we don't know anybody in New Zealand apart from my mum n step dad!
My daughter Is 2 and a bit years old and we are also expecting our second baby in July which we are very excited about.
Hoping to meet some other mummies that we can meet up with, need to socialise and get out of the house before I go insane! I drive so transport isn't an issue either.
So if your out there please get in touch I'd love to hear from you
    Sammy x

    Hello and welcome.

I suggest that you look at the local library, where they'll very likely have details of activities available for you, for your daughter, and for both of you together. The library itself may well have some story times and/or singalongs - certainly, my grandchildren used to go to some when they were of that age. Another place you can look is on fliers posted locally, and small ads in the dairies or post shops. Once you start going to anything, whether it's fun activities or some kind of lessons, you'll soon get to know other people. The big thing is to join in everything enthusiastically, and accept all invitations, to begin with, even if it's not something that would be your first choice, for the sake of the social contacts. Good luck!

My first thought would be Playcentre Rangiora. That might "kill 2 birds with 1 stone" as the saying goes.

Have a wander down to the Santa parade on Sunday then the party in Victoria park ( i think )after. Sure you bump into someone who'll be happy to strike up a conversation and hopefully will lead to making some new friends. Really going to miss Rangiora, it's a lovely friendly town
