    Question Question about fortnightly payment

    Hi,

I would like to ask regarding the salary payment after tax in NZ.
Is there any disadvantage if you get your salary payment after tax (net pay) fortnightly compared to monthly payment?
I mean from tax point of view, do you pay more tax if you get your salary fortnightly (compared to monthly).
    Thank you.

AFAIK there is just a minor difference - due to rounding; so no issues.
And even this will be corrected in the annual tax review(declaration).

Ultimately you're still earning the same annual salary so there is no disadvantage to the frequency of your payments

And you probably have no choice - if your company pays fortnightly that's when you get paid.
I get paid monthly, my husband gets paid fortnightly. Not sure what the most common way is, probably fortnightly.
We thought it a bit strange at first, prefer it to monthly now.

Should be no difference other than minor rounding. I am paid monthly, oh is weekly but both in salaried positions...it is the way things are done. For me the biggest shock was getting paid monthly, mid calendar month, for the entire month...paid before I work it...that I did find unusual!
