Smile IMIAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma In Automotive Glazing (QCF)

    Hi there,
I am new to the group, just wandering if anyone can help....
I am looking to find out the equivalent for a qualification to find out how many points this would achieve.
Its an IMI Awards Qualification Certificate - IMIAL Level 2 Diploma In Automotive Glazing (QCF)
    Many Thanks.

What is important is whether or not your job is on the Skills lists, and what level of qualification is required there for it to be counted as skilled. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/templ...=Guest&level=1 (A level 2 NVQ is reckoned equivalent to UK GCSEs at Grades A* - C.)

Automotive Glazier is not on the list, does it need to be for an EOI?
I was hoping we could apply under the SMC if this qualification gives enough points, other than that go down the route of trying to obtain a job offer first.

An EOI is the first step in an application under the Skilled Migrant Category, so to get in on it, a person has to be skilled, in a job which is in short supply in the NZ population at the time. Every so often, they check around the work situation and revise the lists according to what they find.

Here's all the detail about what they regard as skilled. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/opsmanual/ Go to Residence » Skilled Migrant Category » SM7 Skilled employment » SM7.10 Skilled Employment.

For getting a work visa, through getting a job offer, there are still requirements to be met (with some kinds of visa still requiring the skilled lists) - more details off this page. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra.../requirements/
