Got a mail from Immigration NZ that our immigration application status has been updated.

On the Immigration website it shows - APPROVED under Resident visa

1. What does it mean and what steps to do next ?

There's a good Christmas present from INZ! You're approved for your Residence visa(s). You'll be getting a notification, either by email or through the post, and that will give you instructions about what you still need to do.

Broadly speaking, you will have to arrange to pay the Migrant Levy, and send in your passport(s) to have the blue stickers put in. You have six months to do that, from the date of notification. Then, from the date on the visa, you have a year before you must have activated it, by presenting it to be stamped at Immigration at the airport upon arrival in NZ.
