ITA documents - held for custom clearance at Shanghai

Hi,

We sent our ITA documents using a fast courier service to reach Shanghai within two days. However, it is still pending delivery to INZ, shanghai.
Reason given , it is waiting clearance from local customs.

Has any one had similar experience before? How long would it take before customs would clear it off?
After all , they are all documents and nothing else.

I think you should personally see guys at courier office and get update from them. In my case, i sent my x ray films along with my ITA and they were stuck at customs. I inquired at courier office and they told me i have to pay some custom duty only then package will be delivered. I paid the duty and it was delivered. So, you better check with your courier company.

Thanks Vishy. The courier was cleared by local customs after about a day of arriving there. Finally the application reached INZ , but delayed by about 2 days.
