Hi Phil
We were picked in the Nov draw and like you have not heard anything yet. Would ring London but it costs so much. Perhaps give them another week and then ring, probably a lot of staff off over Christmas and New Year so they will be just getting back into work. Its very frustrating waiting. Have been gathering all information we need in the meantime. Let us know if you hear anything.

Good to know that others are still waiting as concerned we had been forgotten. Like you we have been gathering the information, but still can't decide which route to go, daughter and husband sponsoring us, concerned that he is self employed and perhaps INZ might not like this but as houses do not seem to be selling well and exchange rates so low don't really want to go this route as prefer to rent the house out and see what happens in the next couple of years.Originally Posted by lavalamp
We are also having periods of excitement one minute and then fear the next as we are giving up well paid jobs etc to be with our daughter. Both too young to retire and so will be frantically job hunting if we are lucky enough to be granted a visa

We are being sponsored by our daughter and her OH. He is self-employed. Our daughter does not earn enough on her own, she works part-time, the rest of the time looking after our grandchildren. He earns enough on his own. Got a letter off the accountant he uses and a statement of earnings as well as bank statements. I hope this will be enough for INZ. We are both retired so we won't have the stress of looking for jobs. If we are approved we are going to put the house on the market as soon as we know. They are selling around here but not for the asking price. Hopefully we will hear form London in the next week. Fingers crossed.
