How to get to the airport?

Can anybody recommend a vehicle that will take 6 of us and all our 30kg's of baggage plus hand luggage to the airport. How do people usually do this?

A minibus. A people-carrier with a trailer behind it - many taxi firms have specialist luggage trailers. A car for the people, plus another vehicle for the luggage (second car, or van), perhaps driven by friends.

Minibus is probably the best bet. Costs will depend on how far you are from the airport. There are likely to be companies that specialise in such transfers, just Google or resort to the Yellow Pages!

In our case, we used the mum+dad and bro+SiL service

We used the taxi driver who used to take the boys to school with his people carrier and his luggage trailer. I suppose it depends if you want family and friends with you.....

We are trying not to have anybody at the airport, it will be emotional enough and I dont want us all crying while we check our bags in. I'll check the minibus hire in my wife's town, we are going to her parents for a few days and leaving from there.

Or consider hiring a self-drive van for the day: pickup locally and drop off at the airport. Or one from the airport picked up the night before.
