    Default Documents Certification !

    Hi Friends,

I need to certify quite a number of documents for my ITA and would like to know if I can certify these copies in my country of birth. For example, I'm currently living in a country X for last 10 years and I'm a citizen of country Y. My partner and children are citizens of country X.

Can I certify the copies of original documents for ALL OF US in the country Y ?.

Could any one please advise. Thanks.

But I read some where and it was indicated as " Certified copies must be stamped or endorsed as being true copies of the originals by a person authorised by law to take statutory declarations in the applicant's country or in New Zealand. Examples: a lawyer, notary public, Justice of the Peace, or court official. "

I see what you're saying, but I feel you could use the officials designated by country x OR country Y. Country Y is your country of birth, but country x is your country of residence for the moment. If in doubt still, I suggest you should ask INZ about this matter of interpretation.

I'm Canadian so I used a Canadian Notary Public to certify copies. I kept originals. That worked.
