Contracting for UK company from New Zealand
Hi,
I am working in IT/R&D and am looking to contract for a UK company from New Zealand (i am based in Auckland).
I would:
_ Work for them as a sole contractor (maybe using a limited liability company that i would create in the UK)
_ Be based in Auckland but would travel once in a while to the UK for short periods of time
_ Be paid in pounds on a UK bank account
Ideally I would like to get in touch with someone who has already been in such a situation and would be able to give advice on legal and tax issues involved.
My understanding is that i would have to declare income in UK and NZ but would eventually only be taxed once on that income thanks to the tax agreement in place between the two countries.
