Ask your car insurer. Many of them offer cheaper roadside assistance.
Stick with the AA.
Agree with AA.
Maybe have a look at new roadside assistance/breakdown company Motoring 24-7 (www.motoring24-7.co.nz) as they have some different/cheaper plans - still using same service providers as existing companies.
AA are good, they came very promptly when we had a couple of very small problems.
