We are here, 2 days in!!!
Hi, well we made it, arriving midnight on Thursday. We are very woolly headed but it is a relief to finally be here!
So far we've been trying to help the kids with their jetlag (not fun) and trying to get over our own.
We flew Singapore Airlines from the UK, and thank you to those who pointed out we could get a migrant luggage allowance, it really helped. The airline staff were incredibly helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help us. We had a 17 hour layover in Singapore and took the kids to the pool and butterfly garden and caught up on some sleep. Thankfully the kids slept much of the two flights. The biosecurity and customs staff at Auckland airport were amazing! We had loads of them go out of their way to help us with all our luggage and pushing a trolley!
Today we had a gorgeous afternoon at Mission Bay beach with icecream, followed by fish and chips!
We are currently staying with my SIL and family, but will be moving into our rental on Friday. Not sure we will want to move in, the family are looking after us so well! Plus we need to get organised with a few odds and ends before then. I have a job interview the same day, poor OH!
Our container is expected to dock on 21 March, and last I checked, it was in the Suez Canal
For now, we are trying to relax, deal with the last few bits of admin and enjoying the heat and sun!
