Default IQA assessment and LTSSL qualification

    Hi,

My qualification is Bachelors in Electronic Engineering and profession Network Engineer.
NZQA has assessed me as Level 7 and equivalent to Bachelor in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

As per the INZ LTSSL list, the requirement is :

    Bachelor degree (Level 7)
    specialising in Information
    Technology (Computer Science,
    Information Systems or other
    Information Technology) OR
    Bachelor degree (Level 7)
    specialising in Electrical and
    Electronic Engineering and
    Technology AND a minimum of
    three years’ relevant post-
    qualification work experience

Will this be a problem because what NZQA has assessed is not an exact match compared to LTSSL : "Bachelor Degree(Level 7) specialising in Electrical and
    Electronic Engineering and Technology.

    Appreciate all inputs.

Hi. I suspect that the answer may depend on the case officer. Your degree and the required degree have a lot in common. A suggestion would be to look up an Electrical and Electronic Engineering and Technology degree and maybe an IT degree in NZ and do a side by side comparison of the papers you took and the ones included in the NZ degree(s). I woud then either email this to a Case Officer if you have one, or talk to someone at INZ. To be honest, in order to avoid a big disappointment for a very small difference here, I woud get advice rom an Immigration Adviser or Lawyer. If you need help finding degrees with which to make a comparison, let me know and I will send you some links to appropriate NZ Universities. Good luck! Karen

Some forum members have approached a similar situation by requesting a review from NZQA, and asking if it's possible their degree could be stated to be the equivalent to (whatever the LTSSL states for their career). See on page 22 of the document here, 'What can I do if I disagree with the result of my assessment?' http://www.nzqa.govt.nz/assets/quali.../guide-IQA.pdf
