Chatting with the census guy who brought the forms around he said that when you fill your forms in online, he gets sent a text message so that he can tick you off the list. I reckon that is clever and efficient use of technology.

That seems to me just pure common sense, and I wish they'd do it here! Thankfully, they don't fine you (yet).

I wish they'd asked people beforehand how they want to do it to save paper. We did ours online, and six forms + dwelling form went into the recycling bin unused...

It must depend on whoever calls at the door as we said we would do them on line and he just gave us the various codes plus the online form mind you they had still printed all these forms so They will be put in the recycling at some stage

What he did say was that now we had registered for online census next time we will be contacted online. Not sure how that will work if we have moved house
