    Unhappy work visa

    hi..there,
    guys

recently i have applied for 2 years work visa extension, after completion of open work permit, but i was given only for 1 year work visa, and job is slightly related to my qualification and the pay is good, do have any idea why i was given only for 1 year.

Surely INZ is the best to ask this to as they can give you a definitive (as opposed to presumptuous) answer?!

There could be many reasons based on your job profile, current market test and if there are chances of having someone locally available for same role. This is one of the restrictions of having work permit that extension is not always guaranteed and depends on the situations at the time of applying for extension.

Someone with much better answer might drop by/correct me, above is just my guess

If you apply with any number of (valid) points more than 100, and a skilled job, your EOI will be selected at the next draw. How do you match up with the requirements on the essential skills in demand list? http://www.immigration.govt.nz/templ...=Guest&level=1 (I looked under Science - Food Technologist.)
