    Default NZ sponsorship for sibling

My sister and her partner are visiting NZ at present and just tentatively looking into the immigration process to NZ. She is just about to qualify as an Equine Veterinary Nurse and looks like she would need 3 yrs post graduate experience. Her partner is highly qualified in martial arts and has his own business back home. Skilled migrant or sponsorship as we have residency?

The possibility of sponsoring adult siblings no longer exists - the regulations changed last year. Don't be too sorry. It was a very difficult process. You didn't only have to have a sibling willing and qualified to sponsor you, but also to have a job waiting, for a long and indefinite period of time while the application waited in the cap, and then crawled through the system.

So - SMC, or, if either can get a job offer, a temporary work visa or WTR, or possibly the LTBV since he has his own business already, would seem to be the possibilities.
