    Default Urgent helpp!!!!

    Hi guys,
So my partners medical result is back from the MA's but the CO needs further medical tests. Here's what he requested:

A repeat full blood count and ESR
    · A sputum culture for AFB, tests for active pulmonary tuberculosis
    · Repeat chest x-ray
    · A specialist report from a respiratory pulmonologist to evaluate on the appearance of TB and lung disease.

Can some one tell me please whether any precaution have taken before giving the test for the second time, eg: diet or exercises?
Also I have no clue what went wrong with his prior test results so would it possible to tell that from the question?

I would appreciate of some one could help me and tell me what this is about and what needs to be taken into notice?

    Thanks you.

In your partner's place, I would consult my own doctor very soon, to explain what has happened and to ask these questions. He will probably need to see his own doctor to get the referral to the required specialist in any case.

Was any section on the medical form marked as 'abnormal'? That might give you a clue. If you don't know that, one can only guess that either there was something that looked suspicious on the X-ray, or a reading in a blood test that was outside the norms. Obviously, the MA wants the possibility of tuberculosis investigated. Until he has been looked over by experts, nobody can tell you anything for certain. For your partner's own sake, if there is any problem (not some accidental false reading), it needs to be met with appropriate treatment starting as soon as possible.

If it's TB they're concerned about, there's nothing to be done except determine if he has it and whether it's treatable (many cases are; some are resistant). Regardless, I would be concerned with taking care of any TB, then about migration. I know it's disappointing, but TB is not to be treated lightly. Good luck!

Thank you JandM and jawnbc for your fast response. I have no clue wether the first test was abnormal however once the results were out the doctor did tell my partner that something showed up in his blood. He told my partner it is an inactive infection and so there's nothing to be worried about.

I wish we dealt with it that in beginning so now we didn't had to see all this delay!

So as you've said I should tell my partner to visit a normal doctor and get the test done their and be treated if he's infected and then should he go to the panel doctor to do the final tests?
Also Can the specialists report be from any specialists or does he have to be registered under INZ?

    Thanks

The first part - yes. He must go to his normal doctor, be tested, and treated if necessary. No, he doesn't go back to the panel doctor. He must go to a recognized respiratory pulmonologist, a specialist or consultant - his own doctor will refer him to someone at this level, and will know who best to recommend in your area/country. His own doctor, if suspecting that there is active infection, may well have sent him to this person for the diagnosis and treatment anyway. But it is an assessment (a written report with diagnosis and prognosis) from the specialist, as well as the test results mentioned, which the MA will have to see.
