Question Financial dependence and Custody documents

    Hi.

I got the ITA and preparing all required documents according to the checklist. We are a couple with 7 months old kid. in the checklist, there are two items that asking for Financial dependence and Custody documents.

"Financial dependence Evidence of financial dependence of children aged 17-24 yrs. Please refer to
    the Application for Residence Guide.

    12.
Financial dependence of children aged 17-24 years
Children included in your application aged 16 and under are assumed to be financially
dependant. For children aged between 17-24 years old you are required to supply evidence
of their financial dependency. Evidence which can be submitted as evidence of their total or
substantial financial dependence on you includes:
    • Evidence of current full time study they are undertaking
    • If they are working, payslips showing hours of employment
    • Evidence of financial support such as money transfers
    • Letter which details their dependency"

    and for custody document
"Custody documents – Please refer to the Application for Residence Guide.

    11.
    Custody of Children
If children under 16 years of age are included in your application and their other parent is
not included in the application for residency then you must provide evidence of your right to
take the children from their country of residence.

Please refer to the Application for Residence Guide regarding for information about what
documents you are required to be submitted."

    my questions are:-
since our kid is just 6 months old, is it ok that we don't submit financial dependent supporting document?
Again, since we are both parents, is it ok that we don't submit custody document?

    Thanks

Hi. You will not have to prove that your baby is financially dependent and you don't have to prove custody as the child belongs to you and your current partner - which you will prove by including a certified copy of the baby's full birth certificate.. Good luck with the applications! Karen
