Default Urgent: Visa Option for New born of Resident Class Visa holder parents

    Hi

I am seeking advice on my situation,

Me and wife got Resident class visa under Skilled migrant category in the month of September 2012.

We informed our Case office about the future baby, before we got the visa, Now I have moved to Auckland and started working.

And I wanting to include my child in my application of residency. But Visa CO has refused to do so, and suggested me to apply under Dependent Child category.

If I do so then it will be a fresh application for the New born baby and it will follow its own life cycle, Which will take six to nine month for getting immigration officer assigned to it In that situation my wife's Visa will expire.

I believe that I should apply for tourist visa for my child now, and then apply for dependent child from Auckland.

Any help will be highly appreciated around this situation.

    Regards,
    Ashish

    Hi Ashish,

Congrats on the newborn if baby is born in NZ I reckon you apply for NZ citizenship for the baby since your resident visa holder.

    Hello.

SG2NZ, that would be correct if the baby was born in NZ, but I don't think this is the case.

Am I right about the following assumptions, ashish.antil?

Your baby was not born in NZ.
Your wife and baby are still in India.
Your baby was born after you and your wife were granted Residence.

    Hi,
They have stopped giving citizenship to NZ born children. Now NZ born children can get the visa which his/her parent hold.

Can you please give a link to any source that makes you think this?

I've just found another official source, updated only last month, which agrees with what SG2NZ says. http://www.dol.govt.nz/immigration/k...base/item/1084
