Submitted my EOI application on 30th April (claiming 140 points) n my EOI got selected in 1st May's draw...

Can't believe it happened in just one day.....

Hope ITA also gets through quickly without hiccups.. (wishful thinking....)

it is because your points reached 140, which means it would be automatically selected in the next round's selection.

Congrat to you. We did the same but we were only able to claim for 100 points in the end but have job offer. Thought we'd be stuck in there for ages but got selected the next day too.

This happened becuase you were able to get 140 points. Good luck in your ITA.

I'm not sure whether all EOIs claiming 140 points get selected automatically or not. From the following link (if I have understood it properly) it seems like not all EOIs with 140 get selected automatically.

This link states that

The following EOIs were selected:

All those with a points total of 140 or more = 444 EOIs (865 registrants).
All those with a job or job offer that had a points total of 100 or more but less than 140 points = 114 EOIs (241 registrants).

Does this mean that there were 865 registrants (or EOIs) with 140 or more points and out of 865 only 444 EOIs got selected?

Anyone has idea can provide clarification on this??

I think it means 444 EOIs but with partners and dependents 865 people.

I agree. Those EOIs with 140 or more points, or 100 or more with job offer, are most definitely selected at the next draw.

I believe all EOIs with 140 points are selected automatically. 865 is the number of persons, each EOI can be representing one or more persons. Main applicant, partner and other childrens or dependents.
