Holiday, then working

Apologies, I'd guess this has been asked before.

Would anyone share their experience of going to NZ on a holiday visa, then looking for and getting work (IT on the Long Term Skills List).

With a job offer I have enough points on SMC (not enough without), and by the sounds of it it may be easier to be in NZ actively looking.

Which visa do you get initially if the above happens?
Assume you can then apply through SMC once you have the offer/job, to get PR?

One of these, depending on the circumstances, which employer, your qualifications, etc.. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...rktemporarily/ And you can apply under SMC at the same time. You'll be able to use some of the same evidence. (The visa you get under SMC is Residence - PR comes after a minimum of two years when you meet the requirements. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm)
