Panel Doctors and their prices

Hi,

I have an appointment to see a panel doctor as I have secured a job in New Zealand. I have been told that the price for this will be £420.00.

Is this the going rate or are there alternatives?

Any UK panel doctor is working privately, so they can set their prices as they like. In the past, people have found it really worthwhile to shop around. In some cases, it has been cheaper to arrange the medical somewhere right away from home, even including a hotel stay, than to use the doctor nearest to you.

Where are you, in case someone can recommend a doctor they have used?

Believe it or not, the cheapest one I have found for clients has been the one in Harley Street - and they arrange your chest x-ray as part of same appointment. I was amazed! Cheers. Karen (and £420 is "in the ball park")

£300 for an adult medical including bloods and chest xray at the Bridgewater Hospital in Manchester in January this year.

We had ours in Bridge Clinic Maidenhead and the price was £270 for adult medical plus chest xray and £90 for child if not mistaken. Very nice and tidy clinic with good access and parking
