Unhappy Seeking a job as software engineer with 7 years’ experience in JAVA and .NET

    Hi All,

My husband gone to NZ in April 19th under JSV to find a job as software engineer with 7 years’ experience. He is looking for JAVA and .NET.

He met with 4 to 5 agents and already done some of JAVA tests carried out by those agents. But it’s really frustrating that he didn’t get a single call for an interview.

We are looking for that message day by day, but haven’t received any message.

My husband contacted agents and they told that they have already applied.
Also he didn’t know the results of his JAVA tests yet

He is in Wellington and now in a very frustrating situation.

Now it’s been nearly 1 month and can somebody tell me whether he needs to move to another place I mean to Auckland or Christchurch or whether its take this much of time to call for an interview?

Are we really needed to worry in this situation?

Please let us know your opinion.

    Many Thanks,
    Ran82

I am sharing my experience. Thought it could be useful. I am also a s/w engg. I applied to my suitable positions in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch. Got 5/6 phone calls from Christchurch, 1 interview call from Wellington, 1 interview call from Hawks Bay but.. all the applications were rejected from Auckland. I am a bit confident, if I move to Christchurch, I would get some interview calls.

My limited experience in a similar situation is this:
    - I had 3 interviews on the phone, all went good (so the recruiting guys said)
    - I had 2 online tests which never returned with the results, so I assume it was bad (strange)
    => silence after that.

    I`m not 'worried', just disappointed.

    Thank you very much

yes srivatsa123 keep up your hopes. it took almost 2 months to get a interview call even several agents said that my hubby did their technical tasks very well.

he got through from the 1st interview.

he will be starting from 1st of July.

always call and ask updates from agents

    Hi All,

No need to disappoint, usually it takes 2-3 months to get the job. Be positive, be patient and stay focused. Sooner or later you will get the job.
    cheers!
