I have recently been granted residency through partnership. (2 months ago).
If we break up before im granted permanant residency, will this affect my residency? And will I have to obtain another visa or worse leave NZ?

No - the partnership has to be proved BEFORE the visa is processed, then there aren't any strings on the Residence once granted. The requirements for PR are the same as for anyone else http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...quirements.htm, and don't include anything to do with the partner.
