If you get a job offer, then you can apply for one of the work visas - there are various kinds, see here. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...rktemporarily/ When you apply for one of those, then your partner can apply for a partner-sponsored temporary work visa http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra.../familystream/, which will match yours for time. If your children are of school age, they will each need a student visa http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/study/, or if under 5, a visitor's visa. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migrant/stream/visit/ The family can apply for these other visas at the same time as yours, with a cover letter linking the whole lot - the Case Officer will work the whole thing as one case, supplying things like your visa number, which you wouldn't know to begin with, as they become available.
If you have qualifications in a skilled job so that you would be eligible to apply under the Skilled Migrant Category, you could put your partner and children all on the same application. http://www.immigration.govt.nz/migra...nt/default.htm
