I never expected that there'd be an NZ dedicated forum, and in V-bulletin too. This is awesome!
Anyway, I live in Denmark and I want to move to NZ permanently because the nature is great, and there are dolphins everywhere. I don't want to move to the UK even though the country basically have the same things I want and the water temperature is the same as in NZ. Even though I need a VISA to move to NZ where I don't need one for UK, I still think I'd be happier in NZ for some reason.
I have looked at all the VISA's and stuff for some time now, and my EOI just needs a little more info. However, it seems that I need a job offer to get enough points to be eligible for processing. However, finding a job where the employer has to wait something like 6 months for employment is rather difficult if not impossible. For this, I want to know what others have done to make it a little easier for my self.
I have already looked at newkiwis but they don't have any electrician jobs at all. The only job I found was on workingin-newzealand where the expiration date of the job is the 31st of December, however I don't find my self qualified enough for the job.
This is the next big hurdle; I'm only 22 and haven't got that much real-life experience regarding programming since I have only completed my study/education as an electrician up until now. With these conditions, I'm almost bound to just find a normal electrician job with no programming which I'm not so fond about.
I have also registered on Imlooking where I have made sure that the employer sees that I'm not living in NZ as the first thing he sees.
But...
Am I even doing this the right way? I mean, looking for a job to get a job offer to get enough points for an EOI? Do I have to actually move to NZ before I'm able to find a job at all?
I have also registered at nzready where I have this humongous task list I need to do before I do anything else. However, at this point, everything just seems so confusing and I don't know where to even start..
