    Default Birth certificate??

Hi everyone. 1st time poster here. Can someone please help me with a few things regarding a partnership residence visa. It specifically asks for a birth certificate to be included. Can a certified copy of a passport be used instead? If not, will immigration allow the documents to be submitted as long as we later submit the birth certificate (like they allow for police certificates) due to time constraints?

Also, has anyone had any first hand experience on processing times? We have comprehensive evidence of the longevity of our relationship. thanks

    Hi,

You can send Can a certified copy of Birth certificate only. For Indians there is an option of sending some alternative document but CO will again ask for Birth Certificate only. So better you submit only Birth Certificate.

You can only ask if INZ will accept your application without the required birth certificate, giving copies of everything you have tried in order to get the certificate in time, but it's rare that that is agreed.

Here's a post on an old thread dealing with the specific problems some Indian applicants have. http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread....183#post456183

For processing times, Google "NZ immigration (whatever branch) processing times", and you'll find the most recent estimate, based on how things have been going lately on average, but of course, an average won't necessarily apply to your specific case. These timings are never a promise, and have to be understood to be elastic.
