once an EOI is selected, how would they inform you? does it automatically give you an invitation to apply for a visa? whats the next step? is the interview for the principal applicant only or does it include the dependent as well? i just wanted to know what to expect upon launching my EOI and how long will it take to get the visa. when can i say that i am really approved for visa? is it after the interview?
I thought you will still need to have your partner assessed by NZQA? Note that if you claim points for your partner in EOI with out IQA your EOI will be sent back to the pool if selected.
You can view the status of your EOI and application in your account in INZ site.
For the interview, this will depend on CO if they want to include the partner of the principal applicant. I know some cases where CO only interviewed the principal applicant and some included the partner of the principal applicant.
For the duration, this will depend on the cases being handled by INZ office where you will submit your application. Don't worry, for every changes in your status in INZ, you will received email notice either electronically or coming from COs.
Great! Looking forward to your positive outcome.
Also, i suggest you start looking for jobs related in your field as early as now so you would know the market in NZ for your skills including your partner. Goodluck.
This old post http://www.enz.org/forum/showthread.php?t=38304 will show you the sequence of events to be expected after you apply. You can't tell how long the process will take, because every case is individual (so there are differing amounts of material to be worked through), some processes depend on replies from outsiders who may not respond promptly, and there are often variations in the pattern of workload in the INZ office you have to deal with.
I think trevore is being over-hopeful in saying you will be notified at every stage (maybe you were very lucky, trevore!). INZ officials' job focus is to process cases - they are not meant to send 'empty' emails (e.g. 'Dear Mr Applicant, I have not yet had a reply from your university so I have not been able to do anything new with your case, and it is waiting in the queue') as this takes up time when they should be working something that HAS arrived and CAN move someone's situation on. Therefore, quite often, you don't hear anything for some long time (and it always SEEMS long to the person waiting). In the first stage, many applicants don't even know they have been allocated to a CO until a part of the processing had been done.
I had 125 points without job offer, i applied for EOI and was very patient and after 6 months fortunately my EOI got selected
