Help me calculate my work experience

Hi all,
Will be having 6 years work experience in area of absolute skills shortage next year (140 pts) but am not sure when exactly.
Please help me calculate as per below:

09 Jan 2008 - 23 Apr 2008
09 May 2008 - 13 Jun 2009
01 Jul 2009 - 24 Jul 2010
09 Aug 2010 - To Which date? (My present job)

I have a date but would like to confirm if its ok. From my research, work experience is calculated to the nearest month.

In INZ terms, it's done in completed months (that is, nothing is rounded UP).

09 Jan 2008 - 23 Apr 2008 = 3 months.
09 May 2008 - 13 Jun 2009 = 13 months.
01 Jul 2009 - 24 Jul 2010 = 12 months.
09 Aug 2010 - 9th April 2014 = 44 months.

Hang on... let's see if the odd days make an extra month we can knock off.

2008, 9th April - 23rd April is 14 days.
2009, 9th June - 13th June is 4 days.
2010, 1st July - 24th July is 23 days.

That's a total of 41 days, so yes, it looks as if you can take off an extra month, and apply around 9th March of 2014.

I think your calculation is more accurate. However, one of my work experience is "IT Specialist" while all others are "Network Engineer". Am not sure it falls in LTSSL to claim the bonus point for 6 years work experience in area of absolute skills shortage. Am thinking of focusing on securing a job with my SFV instead of relying on bonus points which am not sure is valid.

It will all depend on how well the description of what you had to DO as 'IT Specialist' matches up with the description of 'Network Engineer' on the ANZSCO list. The title doesn't matter a bit - it could be anything, depending on the whim of the employer. It's the responsibilities you had that count. You can google the description and number you have put in, and should come up with the listing.
